Rentals FAQ

Key details on rental types, one-way options, deposits, cancellations, and what is included in a rental.

1. Rental Packages

We offer three main types of rental: Tourist, Expat, and One-way.

These names are simply used to explain how each rental works. They are not strict categories. For example, an expat can take a Tourist rental, and a visitor can qualify for an Expat rental if they meet the conditions.

Tourist Rental
A fixed-term rental paid daily or weekly. The duration is agreed in advance and does not automatically renew. This is most commonly used by short-term visitors.

Expat Rental
A monthly rental that renews automatically each month. This is designed for people living and working in Vietnam who need a longer-term solution.

Manual bikes are not available for Expat rental.

One-way Rental
Available to both tourists and expats who wish to travel between our locations in Hanoi, Danang, and HCMC. One-way rentals are charged at Tourist rates, with an additional transportation fee to return the bike to its original location.

Automatic and small semi-automatic bikes are not available for Tourist or One-way rental.

If you plan to rent for several months and live and work in Vietnam, you qualify for our Expat Rental service.

No. One-way rentals are only available on motorcycles that are suitable for long-distance touring between cities. These are typically larger and more robust bikes such as the Honda Future, XR150, CB500X and similar models.

Automatic scooters and small bikes such as the Honda Cub are not available for one-way rental.

We rent automatic scooters, semi-automatic bikes, manual motorcycles, and a small number of electric bikes. Our fleet includes models suited to city riding, long-distance touring, and off-road travel.

The right choice depends on your riding experience and the type of journey you are planning.

Ride what you usually ride at home.

Automatic scooters are best if you are mainly riding in the city, such as the Honda Vision or Honda Lead.

Semi-automatic bikes, such as the Honda Blade or Honda Future, suit riders who want more control and are planning longer distances or riding routes like the Ha Giang Loop.

Manual motorcycles are suitable if you already ride manual at home. Vietnam is not the place to learn manual riding for the first time.

We only use genuine motorcycles.

We also use genuine OEM parts when servicing and repairing, along with quality oils and lubricants. This comes at additional expense, but the reliability gained is worth it.

2. Booking

We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season (November to March), to avoid disappointment. If you book in advance, we guarantee the availability of your reserved motorcycle.

Walk-in customers are welcome, but availability cannot be guaranteed and flexibility may be required.

Yes. This is a One-way rental.

You can travel between our locations in Hanoi, Danang, and HCMC. One-way rentals are charged at Tourist rental rates plus a transportation fee to return the motorcycle to its original location.

Yes. All one-way rentals include a transportation fee to return the motorcycle to its original location. The fee ranges from 75–200 USD depending on the motorcycle.

We do not charge for days when the motorcycle is in transit. Relocation can take 3–4 days.

No. Please book the motorcycle for the full period you intend to use it. We schedule rentals tightly and often have another customer collecting the bike within 24 hours of return.

Extensions may be possible if the motorcycle is available. This is assessed case by case and can be confirmed when you collect the bike.

Refunds depend on how far in advance you cancel:

  • More than 60 days: Full refund
  • More than 30 days: 50 percent refund
  • More than 7 days: 25 percent refund
  • Less than 7 days: No refund

We operate on tight scheduling. Late cancellations significantly affect other bookings and business operations.

We have physical stores in Hanoi and Danang.

In HCMC we currently operate from storage facilities and provide one-way rental services, but we do not have a walk-in storefront.

This is discouraged but sometimes possible. We require as much notice as possible, as changing the return location may affect subsequent bookings.

If the change does not disrupt another customer, we will try to accommodate the request. However, confirmed bookings always take priority.

3. Pricing, Deposits & Payment

All rentals require a security deposit per motorcycle. The deposit must be paid before the rental begins and is returned once the motorcycle is returned undamaged or fully repaired to our satisfaction.

For large groups, we may reduce the deposit amount.

We accept:

  • Cash (major currencies equivalent to the deposit value)
  • Bank transfer
  • Original passport with Vietnam entry stamp

We do not cover exchange or transfer fees.

Yes. Security deposits are refunded when the motorcycle is returned in the same condition as it was rented.

If damage occurs, repair costs must be settled before the deposit is returned.

Before the rental begins, you pay:

  • The rental fee
  • The security deposit
  • The transportation fee (if applicable)

Once the motorcycle is returned undamaged, your security deposit is refunded.

Yes, we’re happy to accept accept cash in all major currencies.

We do not accept credit or debit card payments. However, we can accept bank transfers through Wise.

4. Policies & Support

No. We do not allow cross-border rentals. We cannot provide reliable support outside Vietnam, and this creates unacceptable risk for both the renter and the business.

The motorcycle must be returned in the same condition it was rented. If it is damaged, you are responsible for the cost of repairs. If it is stolen or lost, you are responsible for the replacement value of the motorcycle.

The security deposit will be held until the matter is resolved.

No comprehensive insurance is available.

Accident damage and theft are the responsibility of the renter. We do provide mandatory third-party insurance as required by law. However, this is only valid if the rider holds a valid Vietnamese licence, and payouts are rare.

We do offer an optional Damage Waiver, but this is not insurance.

We allow a 24-hour buffer between bookings to fully service and prepare motorcycles.

If you return the bike late without informing us, and this disrupts the next booking, you will be responsible for covering the cost of the inconvenience. If no disruption occurs, we do not automatically penalise minor delays.

If you anticipate a late return, contact us as soon as possible.

We own our fleet
We do not act as booking agents. We maintain and service every motorcycle ourselves.

No replica or copy bikes
We only use genuine Honda and Yamaha motorcycles and genuine OEM parts.

Ongoing support
If something goes wrong, we are available by phone to assist.

Transparent pricing
No hidden fees and no unclear contracts.

Established reputation
We encourage customers to review our online reputation.

Call us and we will assist you. Breakdowns are rare, but we are available to help. We can usually direct you to a reliable local mechanic and, where necessary, speak to local garages by phone to help resolve the issue.

As a small company, we cannot know every road or garage in the country, but we have always supported our riders and helped them continue safely.

No. Please do not attempt maintenance yourself. Call us if you believe there is an issue. We use quality oil that lasts between 2,500 and 3,000 km, and our bikes are not leaking or burning oil. There is no need to change or top up oil during your rental.

Overfilling oil can damage the engine, and this has happened before.

5. Inclusions & Extras

Typically included:

  • Helmet
  • Phone holder
  • U-lock
  • Route advice

Expat rentals include two standard open-face helmets. Tourist rentals include a phone holder and may include full-face helmets and waterproof bags (20L, 30L, 40L), subject to availability.

We do not provide riding boots, trousers, body armour, or rain suits.

Helmets are available for all Expat rentals and in limited supply for Tourist rentals and tours.

If you are planning a long tour, we recommend bringing your own riding gear for comfort and hygiene.

Yes. We can help arrange luggage delivery through a third-party courier to your destination hotel.

Yes. All short-term rentals may qualify for discounts.

We are open to partnerships with content creators and tour agencies.

The optional Damage Waiver limits your financial liability for accidental damage to the motorcycle during your rental.

It covers:

  • Accidental damage such as broken lights, bent levers, fairing damage, and minor engine damage
  • Repair costs up to the value of your security deposit

Your maximum liability for covered damage is capped at the deposit amount. The damage waiver is not insurance.

All bikes are checked before and after every rental. Before you leave, we inspect the motorcycle and ask you to check it as well. You should take a short test ride and let us know if anything needs adjusting. When the bike is returned, we check for damage and service it to ensure it remains in good working order.

If you experience any issue during your rental, you must inform us. Roadside mechanics may not work to the same standards, and poor repairs can affect the next rider. We take safety seriously.
